It appears as though Martin Campbell, director of the highly successful “Casino Royale”, will not return for the next installment of the re-invigorated Bond franchise.

This from Comingsoon.net: Campbell not Directing Bond 22

“Casino Royale” was a great film, let alone the best “Bond” movie I’ve ever seen. Campbell’s vision of a grittier, rawer 007 more closely followed Ian Fleming’s vision than any other previous film. Daniel Craig, the subject of much criticism and even a website devoted to hating him as the choice to play Bond, brought such a different persona to the role that it ensured our lovable, yet now flawed superagent, would be around for years to come.

Daniel Craig gets bloodied, kicks butt.
